  • Henry Cole buys a DCX

I had an email today from a guy called Mike Conefrey who works for a TV company HCA Entertainment https://hcaentertainment.com/ a company owned by Henry Cole of Shed and Buried, Find it Fix it Flog It, The Motorcycle Show etc. Apparently Cole has acquired a 25DCX (CCA 8C frame No 25DCX157) and from what I can gather is going to feature it in one of his shows. The bike in question has been doing the rounds. In recent times it was with GRA member Mac Wilds of Emsworth by 5/16, he sold it to a dealer CJP Motorcycles, Blanford in 7/20, they had it up for sale at £4995. It then passed to an Andy Tyldesley of Chorley who found it had a leaking petrol tank, the wrong speedo and a number of other issues. So looks like Andy has moved it on again and the hapless Henry has bought it. Mike Conefrey wanted to know a bit about the history of the DCX, were the gaudy colours original, are they rare etc. One would have thought a 'high profile' motorcycle expert like Cole could have researched this himself. So looks like we may be seeing the DCX on the telly soon. The bike is in one of HC's videos on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/henrycoleTV...19011252532914

In The Shed and Buried program (Series 4 episode 4) https://www.discoveryplus.com/gb/vid...on-4-episode-4 Henry Cole buys the DCX along with a tatty Norman Autocycle for £3000 from former racer Eddie Roberts of Leicester. So approx £2500 for DCX. After respraying the tank on one side and fettling it was sold to Anthony Godin a dealer from Mereworth, Kent for £3500. It was last seen being auctioned at Peterborough on 14th May where it sold for £3600, so after sellers premium and transportation costs would have made a loss. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/...09&pn=1&pp=100

Henry is a dreamer, no way will a DCX do 90mph. looks like the speedo was way out, if you read my original thread is stated it had the wrong speedo fitted. Also when with a previous owner the tank was leaking, I dont think the yellow paint will seal that. No doubt it will resurface again on eBay or other auction.
