  • Rod Slade's bikes upate

I have now been in touch with the new owners of Rod Slades Greeves that were recently sold by the family.
Initially they were bought Kerry Dellar a collector/dealer from Bedfordshire. Kerry quickly decided they were not for him and sold them on for cost price to two other enthusiasts.
The OBG replica special FSV549 went to Steve Lovett from Woodhall Spa Lincs, although Steve does not own any other Greeves he did race a 210cc kart engine road racer and was attracted to that aspect of the special. Steve is recommissioning the bike and hopes to get it back to running order shortly
The other bike a 20DC frame no 61/2858 registered XRD274 and fitted with a 3T (325cc) engine from a Cotton has gone to Dave Mattock of Pulborough, Dave had previously owned an East Coaster which he regretted selling so had a passion for another twin. Dave has already had the engine running and appears in good order despite having stood idle in the Stondon Museum for over 20 Years. The paint work is in good condition so he plans a polish up and leave it original, but the wheel rims and silencer will need re chroming. Dave then plans to ride the bike.
