  • GGW57C Police Essex

A pic of GGW57C (25DD655B) a Greeves Essex supplied to City of London Police in 1965. (pic courtesy of Bob Hennessy) This bike was last known with our late member Ray Tiffin who died 4/18 so bike may now be with new owner. Bob Hennessy is interested in buying GGW57C if its for sale, Bob was a police office in City of London Police and rode this bike.

More police bike pics one of which appeared in the LL Christmas Quiz
The photo of one of the City of London Police 25DD 'Essex' bikes GEV823 - 825B or 826B (exact one unknown) was taken on Saturday 14th November 1964 in Coleman Street, EC2.
It was the Lord Mayor's show which was celebrating motoring success and the fact that Jim Clark had become world champion.
The Greeves and a Norton were escorting, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jack Brabham and Bruce McLaren.
Various other motor manufacturers also took part in the show that year. The rider is PC Ray Kidd. The third & forth pics are of PC John Thompson on GEV824B
