  • Greeves RDS Silverstone history welcomed

Gentlemen... having recently purchased a 1966 RDS Silverstone (RDS 133) which will be refurbished and paraded this forthcoming year, I am looking for anything relevant to its history. My understanding is that it was purchased by Luke Lawler (?) to race at the 1966 TT (the race was won by Mike Hailwood and L Lawler had a DNF). Anything which sheds light on further parts of the bike's history (and any confirmation of my information) would be most welcome. Best wishes to all for the New Year. Pete Parnham

    Greeves RDS Machine History Query.

    Hi Pete,

I've moved your thread here to the dedicated 'Racing Machines' section. You might be interested to know that there is a database for surviving road racers on the GRA website, and there is also a subforum on here with a link attached to the database(see here; http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...thread.php?t=2)

Alternatively, here is a copy of the link to the racers database; http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/racers_database

I've had a quick look and RDS 133 is not listed on there so it appears that you may have a machine not previously known to the club. You may like to add details of your bike to the database to update the record, and info on how to do it is given in the introduction at the top of the database page.

    Good hunting,

    Brian.
