Has anyone replaced their carb' with an after market Mikuni or similar and did you think it a worthwhile mod?

Better than a worn-out S25, I have a Concentric on my Scottish. Have a Mikuni on my D7 175cc Bantam. Probably easier to get jets etc to tune a Concentric.

Is this for a Silverstone? I swapped out the GP for an ex-TZ 34mm Mikuni VM back in the mid-80s. Raced with this until a few years ago when I replaced all the worn parts on the GP and tried that again. Still didn't carburate cleanly mid-range whatever I did but had better top end than the 34mm VM so I bought a new 36mm VM from Motocarb, had him flow the intake and fit a UFO under the slide. Well worth the cost in my opinion.

36mm Amal mk2 smoothbore Concentric on my RCS wIth no problem. Much easier to set up than a GP.
