ID:	73736 I think that's a SAAB engine, but what else is in there and why....I am particularly intrigued by the 2 shocks hanging in front of the radiator.

Surprising that this actually got buy the scrutineer, do you know if its a recent pic?
Not sure if engine is a SAAB as pictured (exhaust outlets are angled on the one in the bike) but maybe DKW or Wartburg

      Fab pictures, Brian!

      Old Hawkstones never die, eh?

Clearly it is a sprinter, so the only person in danger is the rider, and then only for fifteen seconds or so per run.

It does say SAAB on the left-hand side of the tank - I think...

Donated pics via Facebook Greeves Enthusiasts, but no history or story attached I think that says (said) SAAB as well.

Yes looking at the off side pic the end of cylinder block does look the same as the one in the car. I think that a manifold has been made for exhaust to exit in one pipe on near side. The original 3 cylinder engine was 748cc and after 1959 841cc, it was based on the DKW design

Looks a bit like John "Lawry" Sadler. He rode a Saab engined bike in the 70s and competed in the Manx GP on an RAS Silverstone. His bikes were generally a challenge for the scrutineers.

Oh...and I once saw him ride at Brands with a seat fashioned from a cricket bat.
