…just some initial photos from my first sight of the bike. The engine turns and it goes through the gears nicely. It’s truly a beautiful thing, but then you know that already

Its a 1963 24TE Scottish engine number 453D2604 a 32A, was a Greeves allocation so looks like it may be the original

Happy Sunday chaps! It’s a very happy one for me

Please can you let me know if this thread needs to be taken/restarted elsewhere on the forum.

in the meantime, here is some information I’ve got having now seen the V5C (or to be more accurate, two V5Cs - one blue, one red - I have no idea why that is.)

The bike was bought from Greeves Motorcycles Ltd in Chelmsford in Sept 2005. The reg number is JNP 469C (validation character Q)
Date of first registration was 18 Feb 1965
              VIN no is 24TE334
              Engine no is 453D2604

              …and I absolutely love it!!!!

Reg No not original its a 1965 re reg, it would not have had a 'C' suffix in 1963. The blue V5c was an earlier one, they changed to red 2011 / 2012

Nice bike Simon, and so close in terms of frame number.

                      Who’s Paul?

Get it off that trailer, taxed and insured and back on the road

That is the plan John but it hasn’t run for 24 years so I think some fettling is needed first. And besides, North Yorkshire to Essex might be a bit far on a trials bike. My aged backside wouldn’t thank me
