    Good evening everyone,

John here from Bedfordshire. I have recently purchased a Greeves frame to be the basis of my next project. I hope the purists don't shoot me down but the bike will sit on Montesa wheels and forks and be powered by a BSA B40 engine. I will go for a 'traditional' look with silver frame and have already ordered a tank and side panels from Roger Ennis in British racing green.

I believe the frame is a 1967 MX4 Challenger, the frame number being 36 MX4 C148. I intend building this into a road bike but don't have a V5, is there anyway I can tell if the frame had ever been registered for the road?

Next step is to join the club and I look forward to learning more about my bike and Greeves in general.

    John.,

As a scrambler its very unlikely to have been road registered so best bet is to get it registered on an age related plate, the club authentication office Colin Sparrow. Contact Colin by PM and he will tell you how to proceed.
