I replaced the chain on my East Coaster today, in fact the length is 124 links including spring link. I have a 48 t rear sprocket in place of the original 52. The chart says 125 which is an odd number and would require a cranked link. So always best to check existing chain before ordering. I used the DID 428HD chain (same as previous one) as I find these give good service life, almost 20,000 miles in my case and still not completely worn out, but no more adjustment on wheel spindle. The HD (heavy duty) has thicker side plates than the standard D type or the original Reynolds type. Its worth check clearance but its ok on the 4T 2T and 3T engines not sure about the 9E and 32A etc singles

I find it amazing that Hans Renold invented the chain in 1880.
The only thing changed since the basic design was to add O rings to stop the dirt getting into the rollers.
He got things right the first time.

Talking of Renold you can now download their chain catalogues for 1962 https://www.renold.com/media/4064396...-optimised.pdf and 1963-1975 models https://www.renold.com/media/4064400...-optimised.pdf which include sizes for Greeves models. Price wise Renold is now very expensive ie ?48 for 1/2 x 5/16 (428) x 124 links, DID is only ?28.15 including delivery.
