Found these old slides that I took in 1969 , very cheap camera so the pics haven't transferred well from slide to jpeg .

The first should interest Kenny Sykes , first tubular 380 in the Comp Shop .

                    Hi Chris,

Thank you for posting the picture of one of the prototypes and keeping me in mind. I hope everybody enjoyed my part 1 on EXP3/1.

If you have any good photos of the foot peg mounts and brake lever, this would help me out greatly!

I really am enjoying the photos of the "Works riders", this is the era I most remember as a youngster with Greeves.

I hope to post some pictures as well as soon as I can figure this all out.

                      Hi Kenny ,

No pics of the footrests I'm afraid , only the very dark ones I took in the Comp Shop .

I worked on all the xp bikes but it was along time ago !.

I'll put up a couple of pics of Jim Wilson & Paul Harber for you later , they were over here on behalf of Nick Nicholson , 1969 I think .

Paul broke his arm while practising and went home early .

                        Xp3/1

                        Hi Chris,

                        Thanks for the reply!

Funny, I just spoke to Jim Wilson last month regarding the prototype and he told me about his trip over to England! Jim is a wonderful guy and a great story teller.

In part 2 of my story, it will have a little something on Jim and Mr. Greeves.

How many prototypes 360/380 were produced with the shorter seat? I count 3 with XP3/1, Wade's and Browning's. I noticed others but with the longer seats like Wade's 250 that Gary Bailey received after the 68 Inter-AM.

Do you know if XP3/1 was the first one produced to be tested by Nick?

                        Thanks!
                        Kenny

Chaps, I've opened a new thread under 'scrambles' machines for this discussion to continue as it is more appropriate there. This will allow this thread to continue for photographs:

Greeves scramblers, e.g. Hawkstone, Hawkstone Twin, MCS, MDS, ME, Challenger, Griffon, QUB Griffon.

Would you please add your next posts on XP3/1 to that and then I will move these all across to keep it in one place.

                          Thanks!
