Does anyone know of a modern match, i.e. a car colour for the light blue on early scottish petrol tanks

If it is any help I belive it was Ice Blue by Pinchin & Johnson , same colour the Invacars were painted when overhauled for the DHSS .

Thanks Chris, I thought it was the same colour as the fibreglass Invacars, a good fiend of my used to be the foreman of my then local Invacar agent so I was a regular visitor there. It was a very cheap source of Villiers spares! What I real;ly was looking for was a near enough match to a readilly available car manufacturers colour say Ford light blue.

Try RS Bike Paints David. They list a Greeves colour as 'Light Blue' (for a 1960 25DB Sports Twin) that may do the trick. They are on www.rsbikepaint.com (01707 273219.) They do a touch-up bottle for £8 you could order to check, so it won't break the bank if it turns out to be unsuitable.

        Hope this helps.

        Brian.
