  • Anglian front pipe

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but does anyone out there supply new (chromed) front exhaust pipes for the Greeves Anglian? Thanks in anticipation.

Richard Deal (Greeves Motorcycles) should have them https://www.greevesmotorcyclesltd.com/contact.html

Thanks John. I went to school with RD but I've been under the impression that since buying the Greeves name his company is not that well thought of! I've been on to their site but they only list a complete system with no price, which is always ominous!

I'm not going to comment on the man himself, but someone I know had a complete Anglian system from him recently and thought it good quality, if expensive.

Be careful with RD !! also front pipes on TGS and TJS are different, exhaust pipes are better made to suit when you have the bike there.

Thanks for that useful advice - I had no idea! I think my best course of action will be to clean up the old pipe and get it rechromed!

Might be cheaper to take it to a specialist stainless steel exhaust manufacture and get one made in stainless to pattern, it will then last forever, chrome plating is horrendously expensive these days, if you can find a firm to do it there are not many about these days and they dont likke chroming old pipes due to carbon deposits inside the pipe. Also plating firms have are notorious for taking ages to do the work and in some case loosing the parts This firm may be worth contacting http://predatormotorsport.co.uk/PRED...ycle-Exhausts/ not that I have used them myself or know them, but there web site looks promising.

Would agree with getting a stainless steel replica done. I had a complete system done a few years ago for my BSA A65T oily frame version by Alldens Exhausts up here near Market Rasen. Very pleased with the whole thing, still looking good.

Many thanks for your input. I'll take it all on board as the lock down ends (hopefully!). Keep safe!

I have used this company to make the TFS Tail exhaust pipe. They have done other Greeves work as they had a jig, not sure what model it was for. I had one made in stainless and one in mild steel as I wanted to keep originality and the TFS trail pipe was not chromed (except the tiny end tail pipe).

Tube Engineers Ltd are Uk based specialists in mandrel bending and tube end forming in aluminum, copper, steel and stainless steel. We produce exhaust manifolds, silencers, roll cages and hydraulic pipes. Tube bending and fabrication at a competitive price.

Tube Engineers and Aldens are the same company.

Just for your information, I've been in touch with Richard Deal. He's asking £135! Seems a bit steep to me or am I out of touch. Nothing to do with Greeves but just as a comparison I've finally tracked down a front pipe (chromed) for a flat tank BSA I'm involved with - £65 for something which is far more specialist. Is one a giveaway or one a rip off?!

£135 is a bit on the steep side but with small batch production and the chroming it would probably not be that far out, have you got an estimate for re chroming yours? As I said before a stainless steel front pipe (at maybe £80 to £100 possibly less) would be the way to go as it would never rust and would last forever. No brainer really. Why not get a quote from Aldens.
