I have been sorting out the welding order to make sure that it is easy to get to each tube to weld them in place. Seems best 2,3,1,4 for the baffle plates,

The first one has been assembled with just the two ends 'tacked' in place. I want to test it on the bike first just to check it works as it should before it is brazed closed.

Ready to be positioned and welded before slotting in to the tube

Blimey you have a production line going there Tony. I think you may have quite a few takers for these, not only for Greeves but other bikes as well.

Tried it on the Ranger for size, looks nicely in proportion. Needs a reducer down to 30mm as the Griffon is 48mm.

            Hi Tony
As per my previous post (*8), I am very interested in buying one of your silencers.
            How are they progressing?
            Thanks
            Martin

Hi Martin- Gary Bamford has finished a few of the ‘kits’ as he had a customer in the USA. I am sure he will have them for sale however not listed on his website- his contact number is on the website - Tony

                Hi Tony
Thank you for your fast reply.
I've just ordered a silencer and the brackets from Gary.
And had a very useful discussion with Gary.
                Excellent.
                Thank you
                Martin

                    Hi Tony and Garry
The silencer arrived 10 days ago. It is excellent. Big THANK YOU to you both.
Little bit of a problem to fit as my exhaust end pipe seems to tip intowards the wheel
meaning the NOS bracket and clip ring from Garry are difficult to align. Initially I thought
about trying to bend the end of the exhaust outward a bit, but now feel this could cause
irreparable damage. So a bit of fettling with the bracketry is required ! I've looked at the
photos of Griffons on this site and perhaps seen the little angled bracket that joins
the clip ring around the silencer to the seat lug on the frame has been modified by people ?

                    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi Martin - the one I have fitted on my QUB desert scrambler has been fettled as the pipe was slightly shortened at some point in it's history. Easier to bend the bracket to fit or make a similar one rather than try and alter the angle of the exhaust to fit. I expect Gary will 'chip in'

Thanks for the reply and the photo

I popped into the brewery on the way back from the gym.... swings and roundabouts for my health !
Probably best I don't do any fettling tonight.

Interesting that the end of your silencer clamp is roughly level with the top shock bolt, but not your choice.
I think I will have to shorten the rear of the exhaust, but a bit wary as to how much.

And interesting that it looks like you have the short end of the bracket bolted to the frame tang then a second
bend (by you?) to the silencer ring.

I'll have a look in the morning.

                        Thanks

                            Hi Tony,

Thank you rather belatedly for the photos you posted above.
I've been fiddling rather too much with the silencer loop ring and original "bent" bracket, and
have now decided to give up and make my own bracket to fit.
                            Thanks
                            Martin

No problem Martin, probably the easiest work around to make one yourself that fits.
