  • Crankshaft Villiers 32A.

Removed Crankshaft today but there is no spacer (18) or circlip (17) as in book. Is this correct??
Bearing (16) came off shaft no bother but not attempted 19 and 23 as yet.

    Cheers, John.

        Crankshaft Villiers 32a

It is a racing modification to replace the main bearings with wider ones and one circlip is deleted as the bearing covers the groove. I can’t remember the ins and outs of it, but John Woods book, Improving Villiers singles, gives chapter and verse on it. The spacer needs to be there to help with primary compression.

I think this applies to the flywheel side and does not cause any issues as the crank is held axially by the bearings and spacer on the drive side
