  • Cylinder head identification

Any idea what this cylinder head is from? It looks a Villiers 2T but the holes are 5/16" diameter and 1 7/8" apart. 14mm plug 3/4" reach

Excelsior Talisman Twin 243cc, the early version 1952 to 1956, from 1957 it had redesigned heads & barrels. Here is a pic of the early version.

Many thanks.Villiers must have copied it as they look very similar.Strangely enough I had one in the 1960,s. It was in good condition except that it needed a rebore and left a massive smokescreen so I sold it.

Thanks for the positive ID. That's an expensive site,I wonder if they ever sell anything? I wonder if Villiers paid Excelsior to copy their design as they are almost identical cylinder heads for their 2T.

From 1957 Excelsior used a much deeper finned heads, so looks like they had overheating problems.
