I have an Albion 7E 4 speed gearbox which continually jumps out of first gear.
I have stripped the box completley and all seems ok with no obvious problems visible.
All gears select ok when riding with no problems with any of the other gears.
I have increased the thickness of the penn washer to remove a small anmount of end float on the main shaft. Which made no difference.
I have ground a sharp point on the sprung loaded plunger. Which made no difference.
I have also built up the 4 dog teeth on the shaft and filed to shape as suggested by someone but this has also made no difference.
It only ever happens in first gear and I am stumped as what to look for now.
Any suggestions would be a great help.
Many thanks in advance!
