  • Griffon Clutches again!

    Hi All,

The cause of the slight clutch slip on my 360 was found to be nothing other than totally worn-out plates! Its a miracle it even worked at all!

Anyway, looking at exploded diagrams of the Griffon clutch, it shows that the innermost plate is a steel one, which would mean that a steel plate would be rubbing against the steel clutch centre - that doesn't seem quite right, really.

Are these diagrams correct, or does anyone know anything to the contrary?

    Many thanks,
    Andrew

fit an extra brass clutch plate.

helps increase the pressure with tired clutch springs.

plus stops the steel to steel contact.......only on a greeves hey !!!!

        clutch plates

Just brought a set from simon (nametab) and he included the extra plate ! so theres no steel against steel (although my bultaco has steel on steel and my cz also did as well !) proves simons thinking so we dont have to !
