Trials Section
The GRA is affiliated to the ACU as a Non-Territorial Club and as such we can organise trials in any part of the country. Trial Permits are obtained directly from ACU in Rugby so we do not need to go through local ACU Centres. However in the interests of maintaining good working relationships it is advisable to keep local centres informed of our intended events to avoid any unnecessary clash of dates.

A recent GRA survey has shown that there is a need for easy/beginners events and that there are 'hot-spots' of trials members in counties centred on the South Midlands and Hertfordshire areas.

In some areas we have land available for trials use but are unable to use it due to a shortage of people to run and assist with our trials.

We are currently seeking people to run trials in various parts of the UK, so if you are a qualified ACU Clerk of the Course please get in touch with Peter Smith on 01606 551681, or any committee member.

ACU Trials License/Registration

Everyone riding ACU trials has to be registered with ACU. An application form can be obtained from ACU by calling 01788 566400.

The license/registration is renewable annually on 1st January and currently costs £10.00.

Whether applying for the first time or renewing a licence/registration the application form has to be countersigned by a club secretary. GRA members can have their form authorised with the official GRA club stamp by sending the completed form and a stamped/addressed envelope for a reply to:
