Unidentified Pathfinder Enduro in Netherlands. Owned by Jarno Hartendorp it has no VIN plate so frame number cannot be identified
The Pathfinder is for sale at 1700 he also has a Hawkstone frame no: 59/3215 for 2000 and a 25DC Sports twin frame no: 25DC199 year: 1962 for 2700

Jarno's email address is hartendorp44@zonnet.nl

Default Pathfinder engine numbers

The engine number on a Pathfinder is stamped on the rear of the engine/gearbox casing on the RH side

If the bike is recorded on the home dispatch records, will the engine number be recorded in such a way that it can be traced without hours of searching?

Yes apparently I am told most have engine numbers recorded. I have emailed Jarno the position so hopefully he will come back with a number. If the frame number cant be found I am afraid he wont get his asking price, not sure the club can issue a dating cert if no frame number.

Will do Colin if I hear back from him, inspection might be a bit difficult as the bike is in the Netherlands, but of course that would only apply if the bike was coming back to UK and needed to be road registered. May of course be sold on in Netherlands. Obviously without a frame number VIN plate it will seriously effect the price, particularly to the collector.

If it was exported by the factory back in the day we won't be able to trace the frame number from the engine number. The export dispatch record hasn't survived.

Also if it is reimported, the buyer will need to be able to satisfy the DVLA that all import taxes etc. have been paid when he makes application to register the machine.

Still trying to get the engine number of Jarno's bike. Have emailed him the location on engine, he says he will look when he gets time, too busy to look at the moment How long does it take to read an engine number I would have thought he would have been keen to try and get frame number to enhance the sale.

I've found it in the dispatch record, so we now know the frame number.

John, I've emailed you.
