You'll need deeper pockets soon in order to indulge your hobby - according to this prediction - and security to protect it!

Enjoy 'em whilst they're (still) just affordable!

Bit of trade hype I think, its only the exotic stuff like Broughs & Vincents that are likely to continue to rise in value, the 'grey porridge' run of the mill bikes will not be in this league, Greeves prices already seem to have stagnated & in some cases dropped. Look at the many over priced ones on eBay that do not sell. As for cars like Ford Capri's reaching £50k, the odd mint example with some history maybe at a Bonhams or H&H auction where bidders are generally well healed & have money to 'launder'. You can still pick up a good usable classic car for under £5k.
Back to bikes, the article mentions classic jap bikes, these have until fairly recently not made big money, & in fact with the exception of a few 'exotic' models are still cheap to buy, the problem for the concours restorers is the cost of new parts to do the restorations.
If the Brightwells sale yesterday (8th June) is anything to go by the prices are definitely going down. See my thread http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...ead.php?t=6036
