  • 250 & 360 challenger

I have both the above which are fitted with griffon clutches.
The 250 has a mushroom which pushes onto the inner side of the outer plate with the adjuster. However the 360 has a plain rod which pushes onto a small roller fitted into the adjuster which has fused onto the end of the rod. I have bought a mushroom 2x 5inch rods and 3 ball bearings from Hitchcocks which are for Albion gear boxes. The old rods had dimples in the ends of the rods.
I propose using the same setup as the 250. Has anyone carried out this work and do I need to have dimples machined into the end of the new rods. I know that I will have to shorten the new rods to accommodate the mushroom.
    Thanks
    Mike
PS Do you know that a Royal Enfield kick start lever has the same splines as those fitted on Greeves and is substantial. I have bent 3 expensive [ about £90 each] kickstart levers. The ones from Hitchcocks are £ 30 each. And swing out to miss the footpegs if folded up to give a full swing.
