  • Griffon sidecar

At last I found a couple of pictures of what was Steve Humphries Griffon trials sidecar. Pictured at a Greeves trial on the outskirts of Bath at Kelston, 28/7/1990

This is the same outfit featured in the L-L earlier in the year. Barry McRoberts special.

I have a sidecar which appears quite similar. It would need the mounts adapting, as I believe it was on a Bultaco. I bought it to fit on my AJS 370 Stormer, but will probably never get round to it, so, if anyone is interested in crossing my palm with folding.....

        Lightweight sidecars

Ian, there were quite a few people making what were 'modern' lightweight sidecars. Barry Kefford (BKS) made a few and later on in the era of monoshock trials Bruce Rushton. The design was quite generic. Certainly no makers plates or VIN

Ha, yes Phil, no plate or VIN on mine either. Should they have one?

Note tht the engine has an extra flywheel on each side to give it more grunt! I met Barry at Telford and he let me copy the pics tthat appeared in LL. There was also someone at the Greeves Gathering this year that had owned it in the past.
