Greeves Deluxe Roadster, 1955, for sale

I should have also said that this machine has been adapted for road racing, and has an engine tuned for 210cc Gokart class. Nevertheless, it is road legal, with a V5, and tax and MoT exempt, but no lights. New chain and battery, tank repainted, special tools, and some spares.

Patrick has sent me a couple of pics of the bike when being raced. Does anyone recognise it?
        Patrick gave this info:
"The pics came with the bike. The V5 gives date of first registration in the UK as 1.10.83, which suggests it was used off road for 27/28 years, unless it came in from abroad. The VMCC can't trace their own racing number 175, so its provenance remains a mystery."

Yes. It's the same bike you posted on this thread as well John; http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...ead.php?t=6291

This one has been on before, http://www.greeves-riders.org.uk/for...highlight=kart
Frame number is 6056D (1956 20D) has the friction damped forks but spring shocks on rear. 210 kart engine. As a racer it would be lethal with those tin paddle hubs

At £2650 the seller is being a bit optomistic
There was a very interesting and enjoyable article about the bike's origins and history a few years ago which appeared on the old CBG website (I have a copy), which included the pictures Patrick kindly sent to you (as posted earlier in this thread.)

I'm a bit reluctant to dig it out and spend a lot of time writing it all up on here though, in case it gets copied and pasted and ends up in 'Leading Link' under someone else's name......like the last time. (see Post #4 of this thread;http://greeves-riders.org.uk/forums/...ead.php?t=1974)

Good luck with the sale Patrick, and hope the bike finds an appreciative new home. I think it could make for a really interesting and fun 'special'.

          Brian.
