  • What is this rear number plate? (ISDT content)

Sorry for the rubbish picture, its a video capture of the 1961 ISDT and the only reasonable shot I have of the rear number plate unit fitted to these bikes.

Any idea what bike the plate and light are off? The plate looks bantam-ish, but with a different top mount. And the light looks like a larger version of a Wipac S446.

Like this one I would think https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3806/1...898c479665.jpg
This CEV rear light looks very similar http://www.r2wtrials.co.uk/images/swm/CEVrearlight.jpg & is sold for SWM enduro bikes by motoswm.com http://www.r2wtrials.co.uk/html_files/swmrsgs.html bit pricey at £40 though.

More about the CEV reat light here http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/1983-500xc.15317/ Looks popular with enduro riders.

That is similar, but in other photos the light has a flat bottom edge and a chrome surround. Maybe it is the Wipac one, why would they have used something uncommon?

Here are 2 more pics, but its no clearer from these.

I am sure you are right Andy. Wipac or Miller Does look a larger version of the Wipac S446 which they may have made back then.
          Could be a Lucas 529 or Miller 38ET http://villiersservices.co.uk/index....cPath=21_22_33
The headlamp looks like it may be off a LE Velo

Miller type 39R rear light - replicas are available but not quite the same (see photo from 6 LHK).

That looks like the bugger! What other bikes was that fitted to?

                Many thanks,

                      Hi Paul,

Do you know where the replicas are available from? I can seem to find anything!

                      Cheers,
                      Andrew

Like you Andy I cant find a replica Miller 39R lamp, only the 38ET. The 39R one I found on eBay appears to be an original, but may need a bit of restoration.
Where did you download the pic from pgc40?

From what I've now seen, there are 3 different type of "type 39" tail light!!
It seems to be just the lenses which are different, the metal bit is the same on all of them. I think the first one is the correct one for the '61 ISDT bikes.

Hi Andy - this is closest replica that I could find and although its not a miller (its a lucas) it is a similar size and type but not the same. The first picture in your previous post is the correct type lens.
