Sorting out some photos and came across these. This ME was built by Fred Giles. Fred came from Reading, but moved to Cornwall. He was a very talented engineer and built frames under the Appollo name building Sprite and Metisse
    copies.

This example featured some of Fred’s Work and was photographed at Farleigh in 1995
Look closely and the level of fabrication is brilliant. Engine plates, footrest mainframe, rear mudguard, and airbox just name a few. The CZ magnesium hubs just add to the detail.

    Does it still exist?

I bought a few Villiers bits from Fred maybe 10 years ago, and he removed all the dents in my ali tank. He lives in a bungalow up at Wainhouse Corner near Bude, and at the time was still making frames in his shed in the garden. He showed me the jigs etc. As you say Phil, very talented.
