Thumbs up Villiers 4T Pistons Available

Steve Gollings from Villiers Services has been in touch to tell us that they have had pistons manufactured for the Villiers 4T twins.

They are available in STD, +20, +40, +60 and +80

Check their website:

villierservices.co.uk or give them a call on 01384 265797

Default 4T pistons

The standard ones will be new old original Villiers stock, I had a pair from them some years ago when they were only 35 pair including rings, circlips and gudgeon pins. At the time they had dozens in stock. I am now told he is now looking for around 200 a pair for the same stock. So what is the price of the re manufactured ones? As for +80 the spigots will be getting a bit thin at that.

I only know what I've been told, and the information is that they are all newly manufactured. The prices are available on the VS website.

I don't want to get into a debate about "value for money" on here.

Manufacturing costs for short runs of unique items are bound to be high these days.

No further comment on this aspect. I'm only passing on information.

Default 4T pistons

95 each http://villiersservices.co.uk/index....roducts_id=606 They look to have narrower piston rings that originals & what appear in pic to be teflon inserts or coating on skirts

This is an original Hepolite piston for comparision

If anyone is looking for a pair of 4T barrels I still have a pair for sale

Default 4T piston prices

I was talking to Paul Gollings of Villiers Services today and the subject of 4T pistons came up, and the cost of new ones. I mentioned that when I bought a NOS (new old stock) standard pair back in May 2001 he only charged me 35 per pair including rings, gudgeon pins & circlips, but they now charge 228 per pair including VAT. He said that this was for newly re manufactured stock for which they had invested around 20k to re manufacture all oversizes. Apparently VS still have a large quantity of original Villiers 4T STANDARD size pistons they acquired from DMW which they can still sell at much lower prices. So anyone wanting STANDARD 4T pistons should contact Paul or Steve to get a price, Paul did not actually give me a price over the phone.
