          Hi Stuart,

          Mine is straight. As others have said, I don't know for sure whether this is standard, but I've no reason to think otherwise. (Mine is a '58 model, but delivered in Nov '57).

            Greeves Crown Plates info......

            Hi Stuart,

            The answer is that TA crown plates were straight.

            The 'cranked' crown plates were introduced on the TCS for the 1960 model year to give 20% more steering lock than the previous model. At the same time the beam was recast to give a 2% steeper steering head angle, and these changes resulted in a wheelbase reduction from 52" to 51 1/4".
