  • connecting a kill switch

As in the title, I have electronic ignition on my bike but I do not have a kill switch fitted. Where do you connected this in the circuit. Does the switch short circuit the 2 wires coming from the device or maybe it short circuits 1 of the wires to the frame. Any ideas thanks in advance

You need to contact the maker/supplier of the electronic ignition unit to find out the correct connection, if wrong you could damage the unit.

Cheers John, I thought that might be the answer. Not worth risking.

        Electronic ignition

If you have the Electrex World unit installed contact Villiers Services about this. They put one on my bike and the wiring is the opposite way round to the wiring diagram due to changes at the engine end! There are two connections to the CDU which are reversed. Spur from one goes to the kill switch which then has an earth wire to the frame.

Ok thanks for this all noted. I will have to have a look at the unit. I have no knowledge of the item fitted.

OK found the make of the electronic unit. Or certainly the original supplier.
Name Tab which I have now found out used to be suppliers of Greeves and Villiers parts. I will give Simon Bateman a ring tomorrow he might still have details of the unit.
