        This sort of thing is not new, an ex work colleague had TWO Yamaha Townmates stolen and burnt out in local chalk pits some years ago.
        On one occasion myself and another guy chased a teenager on a Honda C90 who we spotted in Cambridge riding through red lights with no helmet. We gave chase down a public footpath that lead to some pits, luckily (for the bike owner) he crashed and broke his foot. Not too much damage to the bike. Police were called and he had to go to hospital A&E.
        Apparently the teenager had loads of previous convictions for nicking motor bikes and scooters. Whether he ever learnt his lesson I dont know. But I am sure if we had not intercepted him the C90 would have ended up torched in the chalk pits.
        Problem is today social media just exacerbates the problem with other tearaways encouraged to do the same.
