Description: 1961 Greeves 246cc ISDT Model Registration no. 710 VPJ Frame no. 24IN 106 Engine no. 398D/2423 One of a relatively small number of ISDT models manufactured, of which even fewer survive, this example was despatched from Greeves' Thundersley factory on 11th September 1961 and registered for the road three days later, 710 VPJ' being a Surrey mark. It is one of a small batch of Internationals made to special order at around this time, the others being 105', 110', 115' and 117'. This particular machine is believed to have been used by Don Howlett-a prominent trials rider of the period who rode for Surrey-based dealer Comerfords-and ridden by him in the 1961 International Six Days Trial, held that year in mid Wales at Llandrindod Wells. Greeves Riders' Association records show that no fewer than 27 International models were used by British riders that year-testimony to the high regard in which Greeves' off-road competition bikes were held-with a further seven favoured by riders from other countries. Restored around 1999-2000, the machine retains its original engine (number 398D/2423') and is presented in excellent condition. It is offered with letter from recognised Greeves authority Andrew King, current road fund licence/MoT certificate and Swansea V5 registration document. Thoroughbred, British, off-road competition motorcycles have been increasing in value in recent years, and this machine represents an opportunity to acquire a rare, factory-built Greeves International model with probable ISDT history.
