  • MCS front fender stay..looking for

    Good evening all!

We have a quandry here in KY with Eleanor. The original owner who desert raced her mashed the front end at some point, so we think...would explain chrome larger diameter front ring, the bent up fender stay and the thrashed foot peg rest. Now the footpeg rest mount we found through Frank.

We have had the Left side of the front fender stay brazed several times now, the area where it is bent up....it keeps breaking in the same place...have even inserted a stud into each end of the tube and brazed over it. Seems every few weeks of riding and she snaps again.

I have been told these are very hard to find...thinking of having one fabricated, but hat to lose the original...guess I could have it bent up too.

OKAY POINT: Anyone know where to get one or maybe a better fix?

    Thanks all and fun riding!

I shouldn't worry too much about original parts on a competition bike Tammy, they're bound to have been crashed or modified during their racing career, so your mudguard stay is quite likely a replacement anyway. I'd advise simply having a new one made.

      Hi Tammy,

I think Frank may have a couple reproductions in his stock.

Thanks Kenny, I think it was quite a few months ago I asked Frank about the front fender frame/stay, he was out at the time, SOO I will give him a call! As usual Kenny I am sooo glad for you being on this forum!

I know it seems cooky, just hate undoing anything that was done to her "in service" feel like I'm erasing her history, I guess thats definitely the far side of "emotional attachment"..LOL, but wouldn't have it any other way!

Then again, with my riding skills lately, sure wouldn't hurt to have an extra one or two.
        Have a good one,
        Tammy
